RMS User Suggestions

RMS User Suggestions enables RMS customers to add new feature suggestions they would find of benefit as well as vote on suggestions made by other customers.

All feedback is actively monitored by RMS Product Development with the highest voted suggestions reviewed for inclusion in a future development cycle.

The more votes a suggestion receives by customers the sooner it goes for consideration into a future development cycle.

  1. The ability to stop Guests booking Online at least 2 months in Advance

    I would like to see a feature which allows me to easily stop clients from booking at least 2 months in advance on RMS Book Now. As it is I set my tariffs for over a year in advance for we get return customers who like to re book upon departure for the following year. This means I have to be organized and have my tariffs set but this also means that on line bookings can be made also. I have not got the time to continuously block them all out and I am scared I will miss one. Where…

  2. Initial booking screen requires the same order as Field Maintenance setup.

    When putting in client reservation details. we start putting in their surname and then after putting in their street address it jumps back to surname.

  3. Create Rate - Option to Create Nightly Rate for Multiple Reservation Dates

    Create Rate for multiple nights at once

    For the Create Rate functionality that allows a user to post a night's accommodation in advance:
    Currently we can only post one night at a time so this is time consuming if we’re trying to post the rate forward for say 30 nights. Could this be enhanced so that there's an option to post multiple dates with one posting rather than being only able to post one night at a time?

    Currently available in our RC and Beta environment and coming soon with the next public Live release of RMS 9+ is the ability to configure the number of nights the Create Rate option will apply at a time, including the ability to create the rate for the full length of stay at once when using Nightly Rate and whether or not the rate should be created on check-in.

  4. Custom Housekeeping Area Statuses

    Housekeeping: additional/customizable clean statuses for rooms

    When managing housekeeping statuses in RMS, we'd like additional clean statuses other than clean, dirty, and inspect.

    Ideally, if we can add/rename statuses based on our needs, we can manage housekeeping in detail. An example would be a progress indicator in percentages.

  5. Clickable Calendar Icons on New IBE

    With updated IBE release, the arrival & departure usability has changed. When a user clicks on the icon for Arrival denoting a calendar, users expect the availability calendar to appear. However, nothing happens until you click in the field. Same for Departure field.

    Can make it so the user can click on the calendar icon and have the availability calendar appear?

    The idea is to make it as user friendly for the potential guest as possible, If the guest has issues, they won't book online, and will go elsewhere.

  6. Add 'Next Arrive Date' as Column Option on the Housekeepers Report

    I would like an extra column in the Daily Housekeeping report that tells me when is the next check in for a particular room.
    An extra column to daily housekeeping report - listing the next check in date for a departing room, would allow me to, at a glance, work out
    cleaning schedule and staffing levels. Currently I manually do this and it is time consuming.

    We are pleased to advise that the option to include the next arrival date of reservations on the Housekeepers Report is now available in RMS 9+ with Reports Version Version 1.20.36.0 and above.

    This version is currently in our Beta Environment and will be included in the next RMS 9+ Live Release.

    Now available in all versions of RMS is the Guest Rewards Module which can be activated and customised to create a loyalty program for guests with point redemption in-built on the accounts in RMS.

  8. Cash transaction report

    If the credit card receipt total in the cash transaction report took into account any credit card refunds it would make it a straight forward check of the credit card receipt total against the EFTPOS terminal report. Currently any refunds have to be manually adjusted to make sure everything is balancing.

  10. On the Rate Tables Setup, it would be awesome if the older year rates could be made inactive.

    After you have setup rates for several years, it's a long list atleast for the camping industry. It would awesome if the older ones could be made inactive and would disappear out of the list, so we would have less to comb through. Inverting the list is OK, but it doesn't stay inverted. They aren't deleted, just inactive.

    The RMS Rate/Availability Chart does automatically archive the older periods and rates from its display lists to ensure that you have a clean view of what is current and future in your system.

    Our Rate/Availability Chart has many new features that are not available in the older traditional rate setup!

    A utility to Copy Rate Setups also exists in RMS9 under the Utilities menu.

  11. RMS Vault for RMS Online

    This feature would allow you to use the RMS Vault to store credit card information from online reservations instead of taking a deposit.
    The RMS Vault would be accessible outside of the RMS system to ensure that you remain within PCI Compliance.

  12. Add ETA Column & Sort By ETA to the Housekeepers Report

    on housekeepers reporst, sort the Housekeepers List by ETA rather than by room number. Therego on busy days, housekeepers can clean according to demand rather than flicking back and forth figuring out what ones can be done last as they're not arriving till late or after hours even.

  13. Navigate Back to Property Viewed on RMS IBE

    Navigating backwards during the online booking process currently returns the user to view All Properties. We would like this to remember the specific Property the user had previously selected.

    Example:
    From the Bunya Mountains website, select Accommodation Search and select a Lodge (for example Ecos Studio) > Select date and adults > Book Now (this will then redirect to the Book Now Button) > then you decide you've booked at the wrong dates > change your date range > Refresh > instead of redirecting back to that property you were just looking at it goes back to Bunya Accommodation Centre…

  14. Bank Reconciliation

    We work primarily with customers Direct Depositing funds to our Trust account and I require the ability to produce a report on a daily basis that matches this regardless of the Date Entered.
    For example, Payments made to us today do not show detail until tomorrow and thus cannot be entered until the following day. This is creating a problem whereby we cannot reconcile bank to RMS on a set period basis.

    You have the option to enter a date banked in the receipt field yet it will not allow me to produce a report based on this information.

  17. Room Availability Report

    Can this report please be enhanced to include a tick box or something so that we can exclude certain housekeeping statuses such as dirty rooms? This report is extremely helpful for after hours when night duty may sell rooms to late walkins.

    By using RMS as your Channel Manager you are able to set minimum night restrictions directly to online agents who allow this to be controlled via their schema.

    The RMS Book Now Button also offers this flexibility.

  19. Digital Registration Cards

    This feature would allow you to push reservation information directly to an iPad on the Reception desk, from here the customer can complete any mandatory fields, read your Terms and Conditions as well as sign. On Submit this would then save against the correspondence history of the reservation.
    This feature would also work directly from the iPad check in system!

  20. Improve Account Printing Efficiency

    Installing a new printer and Smart Printing Service

    We had to install a new printer over the weekend. It's been a long time since the last install so we had forgotten how to get it into smart printing service. It was not working like the printer before. I rang help and was told that the smart printing service is being fazed out and RMS must generate the report to print. After hanging up I worked out how to reinstall smart printing service for our new printer and it works as we like it.

    Due to advancements in browser applications and printing options Smart Printing is no longer required within the RMS application.

    Tax Invoices and Statements can be quickly printed or emailed from an account using the drop down menu. Selecting ‘Print’ will generate the Statement or Tax Invoice on screen and automatically open the browser’s print dialogue box to quickly send the job to the chosen printer.
