RMS User Suggestions

RMS User Suggestions enables RMS customers to add new feature suggestions they would find of benefit as well as vote on suggestions made by other customers.

All feedback is actively monitored by RMS Product Development with the highest voted suggestions reviewed for inclusion in a future development cycle.

The more votes a suggestion receives by customers the sooner it goes for consideration into a future development cycle.

  1. Housekeeper's Report

    Why does this report continue to have a Task Status column, when all it EVER shows is Incomplete? Doesn't have any bearing on anything with this superfluous column still being included for years now!!

    The Housekeepers Report includes the Housekeeping Task Status as the task status can be set to ‘In Progress’ or ‘Complete’ by Housekeepers when using the Staff Portal or by a user in RMS on the Clean Screen.

  4. I would like to be able to access and enter CC details in to both the Vault and the Gateway token

    We would like to enter CC info into the Vault as well as have a Gateway token setup.
    In some instances we require to see full credit card information and the Gateway token does not allow this. So being able to utilise both methods allows for this.

    Credit Card Tokens created through a Payment Gateway encrypt the credit card information to provide security to the cardholder whilst enabling the property to process secure transactions to the card using the CC Token in RMS.

    Credit Card Tokens can be saved on a Guest, Company, Travel Agent or Wholesaler to be available for payments across multiple reservations.

    This process of encrypting the credit card information and masking it to user’s is the PCI Compliant method for credit card information storage.

    The RMS Vault is available for customer’s who have not yet connected with a Payment Gateway to provide a secure method of storing the credit card information that is not easily accessible.

    When you are entering the cc details of a guest it would be helpful if you could see the page behind as you always forget the name and/or spelling of the guest. As it is, you have to ask the guest again for their name

    Credit Card Tokens are created for a Credit Card and are not required to be the same name as the guest details displaying on the reservation.

    As a best practice when creating a Credit Card token over the phone the ‘Name on the Card’ should be entered along with the other card details.

  8. Allow emails that go the an incorrect address to bounce back

    If emails for confirmations, receipts & invoices etc go to the incorrect email address currently you do not know as they don't bounce back into your email account. This used to be a feature but it appears to have been decommissioned.

    The email replies and bouncebacks will be received by the configured property email addresses if the SPF Records & Email Domains have been configured in RMS.

    Completing this setup ensures RMS uses the correct DNS records for the property’s email addresses and will allow the property to receive the bouncebacks and replies from emails sent using RMS.

  9. channel manager automated upload of ads from RMS

    I keep getting told that I need to manually add each listing ad to each different channel. This is ridiculous. This is what we have computers for.
    I want to maintain the ad for each listing in RMS and have RMS load the details and updates to each different channel I choose to advertise on. This is how it has worked for 20 years in Real estate sales and long term rentals. I keep thinking I must be misunderstanding the RMS system. Please tell me I am wrong and you already provide this most basic service. Thank you.

    Each channel connection available in RMS must be setup to connect with the property account on that respective channel’s own website using unique credentials in addition to other connection specific information. This is a process that requires manual user input.

    The majority of new connection setup includes RMS retrieving all listings on that specific channel and providing the user the ability to select which RMS Category & RMS Rate Type each listing should be mapped to. The connections that are not able to retrieve the list require user input to complete the mapping for the required listings.

  10. Show withheld amounts on owner statements

    When running EOM in trust accounting RMS9+, there is a stage when I have to print all the statements then check that they are right before proceeding. The statements that are created for checking don't display the amount to be withheld. This is fundamentally wrong and false and misleading and needs to be fixed now.

    Owner Statements will display the Amount Withheld after Pay Owner has been completed during End of Month. Prior to completing Pay Owner there is no information to be reported on the Owner Statement.

    To preview the Amount to be Withheld prior to completing Pay Owner, this amount will be displayed on the Pay Owner screen.

  11. Display Credit Card details while being in guests account so you don't have to close the screen.

    When using the payment screen, I find that I have to constantly close the screen I'm on to obtain the CC details to take payment on the PoS terminal.

    As you can see, doing this all the time is time consuming.

    Can you make it so it displays the full CC details and not just the 4 digits on the end?

  12. Supporting Bushfire affected customers

    Reduction in Subscription payments for RMS customers affected by recent bushfires.
    As an act of goodwill - would RMS consider offering those customers affected by the recent bushfires a reduction in the January subscriptions?
    Many business in shires and districts that were declared a state of emergency or state of disaster had their income completely decimated over what should have been the busiest time of year.
    Accommodation providers with No vacancy quickly turned to accommodation providers with full vacancy as customers cancelled because of the unprecedented disaster

  13. ALLOW COPY BOOKINGS IN DIFFERENT ROOM TYPES

    Allow the correct pick up of the associated 'rate table' when making a copy booking from one room category to another. Currently the first nights 'rate table' (displayed in Total Rate window) will only copy the old room types rate table and rate - allowing for the possibility of rates to roll wrong.

  15. ACH Payment Option

    For dry storage patrons and Long Term Stay guests, it would benefit us if ACH was programmable weekly and monthly to auto deduct from the guest bank account. I viewed this direct debit option in the Help Center, but was advised it is not available in North America. This option will reduce our credit card processing fees.

  18. Group booking res notes not to be overidden when updating res notes on the group master

    When res notes are updated on group master (in green) on group booking, when pressing save, the tick boxes appear. When tick box is clicked, this overrides/ deletes all previous res notes.

  19. RMS smart print auto update

    RMS Smart Print Client Update function does not work, It would be nice if the Client auto updated when a new version is released.
    We currently see issues with version 1.0.3 where the service will stop for no reason and you cannot restart the server or even put a monitor on the service for self remediation via RMM solutions.
    Version 1.0.6 is more stable but also lacks an auto update function

    Please add an auto update function and more reliable self heal options. It would also be nice if patch notes were published and available for us to review maybe…

  20. Have the RMS Vault Recognise an invalid CC number. T

    The Vault should have the ability to recognise if a CC number is incorrect or invalid.
    The Credit Card field in the client profile recognise's this so why cant the Vault.

    RMS Vault is designed as a PCI Compliant storage method to assist properties who have not yet setup with a Payment Gateway. As RMS Vault is a storage only facility it does not validate credit card details.

    To have credit card number validation it is recommended to connect with a Payment Gateway and set this up in RMS for PCI Compliant storage and charging of credit cards.
