Software Updates at night
RMS always updates mid afternoon, which is the busiest time for us. It seems like we always have 5 people in the office checking in when RMS wants to update. Most times it is not a problem, but last time we could not take payments until it had restarted and downloaded the new version.

Please note that particular suggestion was from one of our North American clients. Typically our upgrades are performed early mornings, Australian time, when there are fewer users logged in. We are still planning on introducing region specific updates in the future.
In relation to your performance issues, there are a number of factors that could be contributing however, backups will not be one of them. We will be in contact within the next 24hrs to investigate this with you further.

I can only assume that as we have problems often late afternoon that this is an ongoing problem. Considering this was Planned in July why has it not been resolved. I do not understand your logic here. Why is it acceptable to run backups at the most important times for your clients (us)? If developer staff need to be on hand then you need to get them in when required or resolve the interaction between the processes, not make life intolerable for your users. If there is another reason for the very slow performance late afternoons then please let me know.
