RMS User Suggestions

RMS User Suggestions enables RMS customers to add new feature suggestions they would find of benefit as well as vote on suggestions made by other customers.

All feedback is actively monitored by RMS Product Development with the highest voted suggestions reviewed for inclusion in a future development cycle.

The more votes a suggestion receives by customers the sooner it goes for consideration into a future development cycle.

  1. Group Name Change

    When a Group's name is changed it must flow through to all the siblings as well. How can RMS say that siblings could be part of different groups in the same reservation? If a sibling is added to a group, they naturally are part of that group!! If the sibling is supposed to part of a different group, surely that means a totally different group name and a different booking? I think sometimes RMS just wants to make things difficult for the users.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is a Group Name field associated to the reservation which functions separately to the existing Group Name field on the Guest Details.

    When using the field on Reservation Details, like all other Reservation Details a prompt to update on sibling reservations will become available.

  2. Wider time range for ETA times - online bookings

    At the moment the ETA field for online bookings is auto-filled with times from 2pm - 10pm.

    Just because standard check-in time is 2pm, doesn't meant the guest is expecting to arrive at 2pm.

    It would be helpful for our staff to know actual times the guests are expecting to arrive.

    Could we have the ability to manage the times that appear in the ETA drop down for online bookings?

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is the ability to setup available Arrival Times for guests to select both in Online Options for use with the RMS IBE as well as the Guest Portal setup.

    For Online Options, this setting can be found on the ‘Page Settings’ tab and the time range selected will adjust what times are available for the ETA field online.

    Thank you for your suggestion on a way we can improve RMS.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is the ability to set a Default Rate Type for use on the Quick Quote screen, including Autoload of Quick Quote on selecting the Add Reservation icon.

    By setting the Default Rate Type here, when you create new reservations this rate will be pre-selected.

    If this option does not meet the needs of your requirements, please comment on this suggestion with more details on what would work best for your operations and we can review.

  5. POS Split Payment

    In the POS System, we need to be able to split payment. For example, if a guest wants to buy a bunch of souvenirs and pay for part of them with cash and the rest on credit card, or part gift certificate, part credit card.

  6. In the IN/OUT Movement screen could a column be added showing boomgate status eg. out or in

    Is it possible to add another column to the IN/OUT movement screen showing the car has departed. At our park the caravan & tent sites on the day of departure can vacate the park at 10 am without presenting at the office. We then have to go into the individual reservations to see if they have left the park. Thanks guys

    Currently available on the In/Out screen in RMS 9+ is the column displaying Boomgate Status.

    Due to the number of columns available on this screen, you may choose to re-order the columns and select ‘Exit’ button to store these preferences against the current logged in user for future use.

  7. Digital Reg card upgrade

    we are a pay at checkin resort and it would be really nice to be able to use the table as a full guest check in process, when using the digital registration card. When the digital registration card is processed by the guest it would also be great if they did the credit card authorization disclosure and amount they agree to pay. One way to make this easy to do would be to allow the digital registration card to have additional pages be added by check box and those additional pages could have merge able fields.     The guest self check-in options described are currently available with the use of the Guest Portal, which can be setup to allow guests to check-in and make a payment if connected with a Payment Gateway.

    The digital registration card can be included in this self check-in process to obtain consent and signature from customers as part of their registration.

  8. Software Updates at night

    RMS always updates mid afternoon, which is the busiest time for us. It seems like we always have 5 people in the office checking in when RMS wants to update. Most times it is not a problem, but last time we could not take payments until it had restarted and downloaded the new version.

  9. Bulk Email Statements, similar to batch invoice run.

    At the moment you can only email statements by individually going into each account. The ability to email all statements to clients each month via a batch or bulk will save a lot of time.

  10. Have CC details entered into guest/corporate/owner portals tokanise to ensure PCP compliance

    Currently when a user enters their credit card details through the portals, these details drop into RMS in the guest or reservation fields.

    As this data is not encrypted this is not PCP compliant. If this information was stored in the vault or tokenised so it would be protected would be far more productive and allow much greater use of these portals.

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to connect a Payment Gateway which can be used in RMS, on the RMS IBE and in the Guest and Corporate Portals to securely obtain guest’s credit card information in a PCI Compliant manner as well as process payments.

    Using the exposed credit card fields on the Guest Details is a non-PCI compliant method and is not recommended. These can be disabled in Field Maintenance setup.

  11. Support the Cmd key!

    Photo management is poorly-implemented on RMS online, with page refreshes every time you add an image, but it takes many times longer on a Mac as there is no support for the Cmd key (support for Cmd is industry standard and I have not experienced this issue on any other web service). The Ctrl key on a Mac performs a different function (right-click), so it is not possible to select multiple images for deletion. I am aware that you can delete from multiple listings in the pop up, but most of the time, we're swapping out individual images or wouldn't…

  12. A message or flag within RMS when there is an unactioned 'QUOTE' in the system

    When a booking is made via an online provider and cannot be completed with RMS we current just get an email saying it is a quote.
    Could we also have a flag of some sort with RMS that highlights that there is a booking that requires attention.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is a Quote widget on the Dashboard to highlight any quote reservations in the system as well as a Booking Chart view that includes displaying these Unallocated Quote Reservations.

    Additional messaging enhancements are currently scheduled to provide further notifications and alerts for users in response to the valuable feedback provided.

  13. PHOTOS ON THE BOOK NOW BUTTON FOR TABLETS & MOBILE

    In 2016 and the importance of great web design for mobile devices, it astounds me that no photos can be added for the RMS book now button. Photo's only appear on desktops. How are customers expected to know what they are booking. Photo's speak louder than words. I suggest we are loosing many bookings and therefore, money, to OTA's

  14. Expand "special event" to 3 rows

    The Booking Chart has a row at the top "Special Events". It is very useful to us when guests ring to book, as we can either explain why we are booked out, or what events are on during their stay, or encourage them to stay longer because xyz event is coming up.. It has many uses.
    It often occurs that there are more than 1 event on the same day. Is it possible to get RMS to increase this to 3 rows?

    Currently available in RMS 9+, the Special Events row on the Booking Chart will expand to display as many Special Events as have been setup across the viewed date range for the Property being viewed.

    This applies to other charts in RMS where the Special Events row is available.

    Guest invoices to show a total of all receipts and charges separately at bottom of invoice.

    Eg those making several payments during their stay would then have the total showing.

    The additional option to display Receipts on the Tax Invoice will make the Tax Invoice Total reflect the Balance instead of the intended Tax Invoice Total of charges only, with a separate line displaying GST or Tax depending on country of operation. Tax Invoices with Receipts displayed include both charges and receipts in their combined total but Tax Invoices do not display Receipts by default as per Tax Invoice guidelines per region.

    Additional alternate Tax Invoice layouts are available for variations on display of Nett, Gross and Tax components, both existing and customised depending on the individual business requirements. These can be discussed by contacting sales@rms.com.au or logging a service request with RMS Support.

  17. Rate/Availability Chart 'View' Need Option to see "All Online Channels"

    The view drop down within the Rate/Availability Chart shows 'House' and the other online channels. Need new option to see "All Online Channels" so one can easily see stop sells in one area opposed to clicking on each channel. Rarely would one stop sell on one channel but leave bookings available on other channels.

  18. In/Out printed Reports

    I print out the 3 reports each day, the Current In House, the Expected Departures and the Expected Arrivals.

    Generally the ability to select which columns are printed on the reports would be very helpful.

    At the moment they are predetermined and unchangeable and half the columns are not relevant to my usage of the reports.

    For example I would like the ETA column to print on my Expected Arrival report.

    I am sure other users would also have different requirements as well

    Also the print order of the reports is fixed by arrival date.

  19. Manual override to take you back to where you were working instead of bottom of screen

    When making rate changes and you do a manual override and save exit it takes you all the way to the bottom of the chart. It would be nice if it stayed in the same place you were working as it did in the desktop version of RMS.

  20. Mobile App Tablet/Phones

    There needs to be a mobile app for phones and tablets that will function on any type of device. Even if it is just the booking chart where we can remotely book people in if we are away. Currently the rms9 is just unworkable on a tablet or phone. Just make it simple so we can take bookings while away from the business.
