Having the RMS IBE assign a space
Having the RMS IBE assign a space to every reservation booked online would be excellent. Please make is so that customers do not know which site they are going in to, only so that the IBE assigns the guest an actual site.
During our peak season, someone booked online and was not assigned a space. This caused my staff to panic because we only had space available if we moved reservations to clear the way for a 12 day consecutive reservation.
Some reservations are locked by the customer and cannot be moved. But because RMS saw that we had availability, even though the availability was not all together on one site, they allowed the customer to make the reservation without placing them on a site.
This could be extremely problematic in the future.

Thank you for your suggestion on a way we can improve RMS.
Currently available with the RMS Internet Booking Engine is the automatic assignment of an Area to the online booking at time of creation. By default the Online Confirmation email will not include the assigned Area and can optionally be enabled to display.
In the scenario mentioned in your suggestion there was Category Availability however, RMS was unable to place the reservation into a single Area and this needed to be manually managed by staff.
As a best practice particularly during peak periods reservations can be moved on the Booking Chart to maximise continuous availability.
