Housekeepers Portal - Improvement Suggestions
It would be great if rooms that have departed would update inside the Housekeepers Portal so they instantly know when a guest has departed and their room is available to be cleaned. Also the ability to highlight with different colours the various task (i.e. Departs GREEN, Services ORANGE, Linen Changes PINK etc...)
Furthermore, many properties have the housekeeping manager or Motel manager perform 'Room Stripping & Stocking'. If the housekeepers can be remotely advised within the Portal when a room has been stripped and stocked it would also be useful.

Is their an update on the above suggestions, in particularly the notification of when a guest has been checkout?
Some other improvements that are required:
ability to prioritise rooms (move tasks up and down based on priority)
ability for the supervisor to be able to reallocate tasks within the portal
ability to identify which room is currently being cleaned -

SECONDING all of this.
Also - i can allocate tasks to specific housekeepers but when they log in to their portal they see all rooms needing cleaning; not just the ones allocated to them. It would be easier if they can just see their daily tasks as I still have to give them a printed report else they see all rooms.
On that - the housekeeping portal doesn't include pre-checks, linen changes or any other custom tasks. So, I still need to give them a printed report so they know to do a linen change in 103 or a precheck in 45. But they can't see these tasks in the houskeeping portal to mark as 'done' so we still often have to call them to check their progress if guests have arrived ie I need to know if their pre-check is finished or not.
Honestly, 'as is' it really isn't particularly useful for all the reasons mentioned in this thread.
And we also strip rooms so this would be a useful function to be able to record so our cleaners the following day can quickly see which rooms will be quicker (as they've been stripped).

1. The colour coding would be a huge benefit on the paper report as well.
2. Have the option to select the colour codes in the Property Setup / House Keeping Tasks page. -

Also in relation to the HK Portal automatically updating the Clean Screen, the "Youtube" training video supplied by RMS actually states that it automatically updates the Clean Screen - when it reality it currently doesn't. RMS needs to address this.

Firstly Kane is right on the money. I though the point of the housekeeping portal was that the most important task of the day, "housekeeping" was communicated online/real time. RMS needs to provide an option for the HK Portal to update the clean screen automatically.
Secondly we would definitely benefit from a room stripping function within RMS. Our HK functions starts by sending the most energetic person out to strip all departing rooms.
Thirdly why are the HK tasks within the HK Portal confined to reservations (i.e.departure, pre-arrival, service, etc). Our housekeeping function includes many items that don't relate directly to a reservation. For example cleaning common areas and spaces, checking common kitchen utensils and restocking, etc. It would be good if the HK function and the portal allowed any free form tasks that are set up with action dates (e.g. set up a task that requires "Flyscreen clean and dust - Lodge House" to be done every two weeks. The HK Manager could then assign this task to a Housekeeper via the portal just like a standard room clean) -

Mobile Phone enhancement suggestions also include:
1. Be able see the Reservation status
2. Be able to sort by: Room Status, Room numbers, Reservation Status etc -

Great ideas Kane. We have gone back and forth with RMS about having a ROOM STRIP feature in Housekeeping only to be told that we are the only property in Australia that STRIPS rooms. It is frustrating that the RMS Programmers/Support Staff don't have experience in the motel/park industry.

Also, when a room is verified as clean (or marked complete by a housekeeper authorised to verify rooms as complete), they should automatically be marked as 'CLEAN' in the Clean Screen AND the Booking Chart - so that Front Desk operators can approve an early check in without having to chase down a cleaner to see if a particular room has been cleaned yet. Alternatively, if the early check in room is NOT clean yet, Front Desk staff will see which ones have been cleaned, and may be able to seamlessly move the Guest into a different room, again without wasting the Guests time and slowing down the Check In experience.
