Credit Card Tokens created through a Payment Gateway encrypt the credit card information to provide security to the cardholder whilst enabling the property to process secure transactions to the card using the CC Token in RMS.

Credit Card Tokens can be saved on a Guest, Company, Travel Agent or Wholesaler to be available for payments across multiple reservations.

This process of encrypting the credit card information and masking it to user’s is the PCI Compliant method for credit card information storage.

The RMS Vault is available for customer’s who have not yet connected with a Payment Gateway to provide a secure method of storing the credit card information that is not easily accessible.

Using RMS Vault you must manually process the credit card information via the EFTPOS terminal instead of charging the credit card directly from RMS using the CC Token as is available when connected to a Payment Gateway.

By design the RMS Vault & Payment Gateway are not intended for parallel operation by a user. RMS Vault is a service provided by RMS to assist our customers keeping their guest’s credit card information secure until they are connected with a Payment Gateway.
