Installing a new printer and Smart Printing Service
We had to install a new printer over the weekend. It's been a long time since the last install so we had forgotten how to get it into smart printing service. It was not working like the printer before. I rang help and was told that the smart printing service is being fazed out and RMS must generate the report to print. After hanging up I worked out how to reinstall smart printing service for our new printer and it works as we like it.
If the Smart Service is not activated; when we want to print or reprint anything, RMS generates a report then the next window has a print button... it takes up too much time during peak check-in times. We prefer to have the smart printing service installed so that it is a one-click direct print out.
PLEASE DO NOT get rid of the smart printing service.

Due to advancements in browser applications and printing options Smart Printing is no longer required within the RMS application.
Tax Invoices and Statements can be quickly printed or emailed from an account using the drop down menu. Selecting ‘Print’ will generate the Statement or Tax Invoice on screen and automatically open the browser’s print dialogue box to quickly send the job to the chosen printer.
