RMS User Suggestions

RMS User Suggestions enables RMS customers to add new feature suggestions they would find of benefit as well as vote on suggestions made by other customers.

All feedback is actively monitored by RMS Product Development with the highest voted suggestions reviewed for inclusion in a future development cycle.

The more votes a suggestion receives by customers the sooner it goes for consideration into a future development cycle.

    Thank you for your suggestion on a way we can improve RMS 9+.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is the ability to open new tabs from menu items, Reservation or Account numbers to work on multiple screens in RMS 9+ without navigating away from incomplete or in progress work.

    To do this at any time, right click the menu item or reservation and select ‘Open in New Tab’ or ‘Edit in New Tab’. and a new browser tab will open without disrupting the view on the current tab.

  2. Support the Cmd key!

    Photo management is poorly-implemented on RMS online, with page refreshes every time you add an image, but it takes many times longer on a Mac as there is no support for the Cmd key (support for Cmd is industry standard and I have not experienced this issue on any other web service). The Ctrl key on a Mac performs a different function (right-click), so it is not possible to select multiple images for deletion. I am aware that you can delete from multiple listings in the pop up, but most of the time, we're swapping out individual images or wouldn't…

  3. PHOTOS ON THE BOOK NOW BUTTON FOR TABLETS & MOBILE

    In 2016 and the importance of great web design for mobile devices, it astounds me that no photos can be added for the RMS book now button. Photo's only appear on desktops. How are customers expected to know what they are booking. Photo's speak louder than words. I suggest we are loosing many bookings and therefore, money, to OTA's

  4. Create Special Membership Sites for Online Booking

    Many accommodation sites are now creating "Members Sites" where best rates are made available for their members as well as other benifits

    Members can login to book online to access "members only" special rates can been seen

    Members can login to see their existing bookings.

    Currently available for setup in RMS 9+ and used with the RMS IBE is the ability to setup multiple ‘Generic’ RMS IBE sites that are accessible via a separate link to the main booking pages.

    These ‘Generic’ sites can have their own special member rates assigned and with the combination of being able to setup Rates as available to Members Only or with the use of a special Promo Code the membership sites can be created as needed.

  5. Add room minimums so guests can't book fewer people online

    Room minimums so guests can't book fewer people online
    We charge per person, and have minimums on our cabins. It would be nice to be able to set those minimums so when a guest wants to book a cabin with a 4 person minimum on it, they can only do that if they have 4 people or pay for 4 people.

    Currently available on Rate Setup in RMS 9+ is the ability to set the minimum number of guests permitted to book that Rate Type.

    The minimum and maximum permitted guests can be setup on the Additionals tab of the Rate Table, along with a Base Person amount to ensure revenue received for the room meets the occupancy criteria required by the property.

    An additional suggestion for your scenario would be entering the 4 person rate as the base price for the cabin, with the person base set to 4. This would mean even if someone did only book for 2 people, they would be paying that 4 person base rate.

  6. Enable adding hyperlink to Online Property T&Cs page

    Our website T&Cs page is comprehensive and includes links to policy documents. Would like to be able to include a hyperlink to our website T&Cs in the RMS T&Cs setup area.

    Guests would benefit from being able to click directly through to view on our website.

    Online Options setup in RMS 9+ currently includes the ability to insert basic HTML tags, including hyperlinking and basic text formatting options.

    We have scheduled further enhancements to this screen to make it easier for users to use these HTML tags without having HTML knowledge.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is the ability to setup the Display Order of Categories. The Display Order determined here will also be used by the RMS IBE to display the available Categories in the preference order setup.

    To do this go to Setup > Category/Area > Display Order in RMS.

  8. Having the RMS IBE assign a space

    Having the RMS IBE assign a space to every reservation booked online would be excellent. Please make is so that customers do not know which site they are going in to, only so that the IBE assigns the guest an actual site.

    During our peak season, someone booked online and was not assigned a space. This caused my staff to panic because we only had space available if we moved reservations to clear the way for a 12 day consecutive reservation.

    Currently available with the RMS Internet Booking Engine is the automatic assignment of an Area to the online booking at time of creation. By default the Online Confirmation email will not include the assigned Area and can optionally be enabled to display.


    In the scenario mentioned in your suggestion there was Category Availability however, RMS was unable to place the reservation into a single Area and this needed to be manually managed by staff. 


    As a best practice particularly during peak periods reservations can be moved on the Booking Chart to maximise continuous availability.

  9. I would like the availability calendar on the booking engine to be category specific

    At present the IBE is set up to pull availability at the property level. However, our property is made up of holiday rentals and guests book based on the property selected from our websites. It’s important to our business that rates and availability displayed to the guest are at the category level, especially when using ibe urls that are category specific

    Currently available with the RMS Internet Booking Engine is the ability to include URL modifiers which can be used to filter the Category or Rates displayed on the Availability Page.


    A widget for the RMS Internet Booking Engine is also available that can be used with the URL modifiers to embed a customised search within a page on the property's website.

  10. Tow Vehicle field should be mandatory!!!

    This information is very important and determines which sites a guest can fit on. We can lose money without this information!!! For guests who don't have a tow vehicle you can simply add a field "No tow vehicle" We are getting guests that don't put their tow vehicle in because it's not mandatory. This makes it much harder to figure out which RV site would be best to assign them too. Please fix this in the next release. - Thank you

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to set fields as mandatory for both user input and the RMS Internet Booking Engine.

    Setting a field as ‘Mandatory on Save’ will require this information to be input before a reservation can be created.

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to customise how the Rate View will be displayed on the RMS IBE including choosing to display the Nightly Rate or Total Rate only.

    On the RMS IBE Rate & Availability page after performing a search guests can choose either the ‘Availability View’ or ‘View Rates’ to see the complete rate grid with the option selected.

  12. I would like there to be able to put in a count of microwaves / roll aways that we have on site

    We need to be able to put in a count of microwaves / roll aways that we have on site and as they are booked as a requirement, it gives us an alert as to how many we have available on that particular date.

  13. Enable RMS IBE to be configured as a subdomain of our website

    Many cloud based systems can be configured as a subdomain of a website, either using mx record and or redirects.

    It would be useful if we could configure a subdomain such as book.ourdomain.com.au to redirect to the IBE for a particular property, and for the IBE to function correctly from search to booking completion.

    Subdomain Forwarding is a feature available with the property’s domain or web host and is setup outside of RMS.

    Whilst instructions to configure vary per provider and their documentation should be referred to for the specific steps you can forward a subdomain to the RMS IBE property website or tailor it to be Category specific using the RMS IBE URL Modifiers linked below.

    Setup the preferred subdomain eg. book.yourdomain.com and then setup the Subdomain Forwarding for that subdomain to redirect visitors to the preferred RMS IBE URL.

    Options include Total Rate, Nightly Rate for 7 Days, Nightly Rate for 12 Days and Interactive Map View.

  15. When a guest books online, and imputs over the max. occupents allowed for site, change message "We are currently sold out for these dates."

    When a guest books for more than the # of individuals allowed at a site, instead of a message popping up saying that they have reached max capacity, or that they are over max capacity, the message reads. "Thank you for your interested in Anglers Hideaway RV Park. We are currently sold out for the date range you have selected. Please see other available dates. We hope to see you soon!"

    This implies that we have no sites available and we could potentially be losing bookings because of this. Please change asap.

  16. I would like to have "pet field" on RMS IBE to have an option to be mandatory or not.

    Currently available on the RMS IBE is the ability to allow Group Reservations. When this option is enabled the guest can select ‘Add Additional Booking’ which will give the guest the ability to search and book for a different number of guests based on the search criteria they enter.

    When completing the online booking process, the reservation will be created in RMS with the corresponding guest numbers.

    Can we have a shopping cart added to the rms book now button so guest can purchase other items such as theme park tickets, meals etc.. as part of their reservation experience. This will enhance the guest experience and add to revenue. I believe Newbook already has this feature as well as many other hotel reservation systems.

  20. We would like to be able to set a reservation as long term so that it applies the conessional GST rate without having to add repeat charge.

    Our client has fruit pickers who use the premises during the off season. These tenants have agreed to be onsite for over 4 weeks, so need to be charged a concessional rate of GST from day 1. We wish for there to be an easy way mark these reservations as long term and use the concessional rate for GST purposes easily and quickly without having to setup repeat charges etc.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ when setup to use Concessional GST is a field on the Account column of the Reservation Screen ‘Use Concessional GST from Day 1’.

    This allows for setting the reservation to use Concessional GST from day one without the dependence on Repeat Charges etc.
