Waitlist for Sold Out Accommodation Dates
A waitlist feature allows you to assign a Waitlist status to a reservation.
If the room or rate requested by the guest becomes available for the desired stay dates, the reservation can be "accepted" and made active.

Waitlist Reservations are now available!

I agree - is this any closer to implementation?? So many other systems have this function and it would be VERY USEFUL!

This seems like a no brainer. Should be implemented ASAP.
This doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to do. They could just add a field to the guest account that allows you to add them to a waiting list for a date range. Then you could run a report and see a list based on the date and who was added first. This would work well for new or existing guests.

I get around this one by creating an 'Event' called Standby, colour coding it to stand out and then enter the guest details in the notes panel of the 'Event'. Then if i get a cancellation I have all the details at hand.

We did the same thing as 247hotel. It's not a perfect work-around but it's the best solution we could find.

I have thought of the same system. When I have called up to suggest this they don't seem to open to the idea. a work around this could be creating extra rooms/areas under the name of wait1, wait2, etc. For statistical reasons you can untick the statistics and that will remove it from sales and occupancy reports. This would at least allow you to have a priority list of people to call back in the event of a room becoming available.

I have thought about the same idea. A work around could be to create more sites/rooms eg wait1, wait2, etc. then placing people on a waiting list in there. This would allow you to have all their details to call them back and simply drag then into the correct place. And any further details you need could be added in the reservations box. Just an idea...

When someday is booked out we have to reject all calls for booking that day and even could not extend staying guest, and very often, when the day closer or on that busy day, someone might cancel the booking so we often end of up with a room not sold even we have rejected many bookings.
If we have a waiting list we can avoid this situation, the ideal waiting list should have following features:
1. Put guest booking in the list according first in first get policy.
2. Hotel is able to assign priority to the booking in the waiting list. Highest priority get the room first.
3. Once the room available send a notification either pop a window or send an email.
