RMS User Suggestions

RMS User Suggestions enables RMS customers to add new feature suggestions they would find of benefit as well as vote on suggestions made by other customers.

All feedback is actively monitored by RMS Product Development with the highest voted suggestions reviewed for inclusion in a future development cycle.

The more votes a suggestion receives by customers the sooner it goes for consideration into a future development cycle.

  1. changing booking dates

    need to be able to change booking dates ie: extend a booking by dragging it out. this feature was available and extremely handy. Now have to open the booking and change the number of nights which just creates extra clicks.

    The Booking Chart in RMS 9+ includes the ability to extend or shorten reservations by simply dragging in the appropriate direction if the user has permission to edit Arrive/Depart dates of reservations.

    Additional options are available on the Booking Chart in relation to moving reservations as well as how they display.

  2. Minimum Stays should not be able to overlap when booking online

    When a guest books online for example 3 nights, if the minimum stay is set to 1 night the first night, then 7 nights thereafter, they are still able to book online for the 3 nights even though the following nights are 7 night minimum. I don't believe this should be allowed. Defeats the purpose of having minimum stays set for certain periods.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is the ability to setup both Minimum Length of Stay on Arrival as well as a Soft Close, otherwise referred to as a Minimum Stay Through Reservation.

    For your scenario, we would recommend setting up a Soft Close to ensure that guests arriving earlier than the 7 night minimum but staying across it will need to book the minimum of 7 nights in order to stay for those dates.

  4. restricting RMS prompts

    "Please allow us more options with regards to choosing whether we receive the following prompts:

    ""only vacant dirty and vacant inspect status will be set to clean. Are you sure you want to set the selected rooms to clean?""

    ""would you like to recalculate the rate?"" - generally this pops up if the dynamic rates have changed since the time of the booking... In this case, we never want to do so! Sometimes we need to recalculate so this message should only come up under those circumstances. Eg. not pop up if you are selecting a room or making minimal…

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is the ability to turn off common reservation update prompts such as Housekeeping and Rate Recalculation messages. These can be switched off per user in Booking Chart Options and Reservation Options.

    The prompt to post for day of departure will only occur when Nightly Rate and choosing ‘Create Rate’ when all night’s rates are on the account already.

  5. A message or flag within RMS when there is an unactioned 'QUOTE' in the system

    When a booking is made via an online provider and cannot be completed with RMS we current just get an email saying it is a quote.
    Could we also have a flag of some sort with RMS that highlights that there is a booking that requires attention.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is a Quote widget on the Dashboard to highlight any quote reservations in the system as well as a Booking Chart view that includes displaying these Unallocated Quote Reservations.

    Additional messaging enhancements are currently scheduled to provide further notifications and alerts for users in response to the valuable feedback provided.

  6. Option to turn off the recalculate the tariff question that appears every time a reservation is edited.

    There should be an option to turn off the question to recalculate the tariff every time a reservation is edited. It is very time consuming and annoying.

    In RMS 9+ it is now possible to turn off the Rate Recalculation messages on the Booking Chart and in the Reservation screen, by selecting the Options button and un-ticking the option ‘Show Confirmation Messages.’

    When confirmation messages are not displayed, Rate Recalculation will be defaulted to ‘Yes’ and will not prompt the user each time.

  7. We would like less 'clicks' to print receipts or statements

    at the moment it is taking 4-5 clicks to finally print in 9+ - very frustrating!!

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is the ability to enable Smart Printing. With the installation of a Print Client on one computer sharing a network with printers and defining which preferred printers and paper sizes for various print functions in RMS, these printing tasks can be reduced to 2 clicks.

  8. Please move the "completed task boxes" from the top right corner

    Is there anyway that the "completed task boxes" (green and blue boxes that pop up in the right hand corner to say "printed" or "saved" etc) could be moved to a different corner? The right hand corner is commonly where the "close window" or "exit" would be so we are having to wait for the "completed task boxes" to fade away before being able to close the current window and move on to the next task etc. This is slowing us down.

  9. Manual override to take you back to where you were working instead of bottom of screen

    When making rate changes and you do a manual override and save exit it takes you all the way to the bottom of the chart. It would be nice if it stayed in the same place you were working as it did in the desktop version of RMS.

  11. Need a Closed to departure option.

    We have closed to arrival and departure on saturdays- Therefore friday and saturday nights must be taken together. I have set the closed to arrival restriction on RMS but there is no closed to departure option?

    Many accommodation sites are now creating "Members Sites" where best rates are made available for their members as well as other benifits

    Members can login to book online to access "members only" special rates can been seen

    Members can login to see their existing bookings.

    Currently available for setup in RMS 9+ and used with the RMS IBE is the ability to setup multiple ‘Generic’ RMS IBE sites that are accessible via a separate link to the main booking pages.

    These ‘Generic’ sites can have their own special member rates assigned and with the combination of being able to setup Rates as available to Members Only or with the use of a special Promo Code the membership sites can be created as needed.

  14. PHOTOS ON THE BOOK NOW BUTTON FOR TABLETS & MOBILE

    In 2016 and the importance of great web design for mobile devices, it astounds me that no photos can be added for the RMS book now button. Photo's only appear on desktops. How are customers expected to know what they are booking. Photo's speak louder than words. I suggest we are loosing many bookings and therefore, money, to OTA's

  16. Mobile App Tablet/Phones

    There needs to be a mobile app for phones and tablets that will function on any type of device. Even if it is just the booking chart where we can remotely book people in if we are away. Currently the rms9 is just unworkable on a tablet or phone. Just make it simple so we can take bookings while away from the business.

  18. Allow more units to be displayed on booking chart in 9+

    In version 9 at least 76 units can be viewed on booking chart however in v9+ it is only possible for us to see a maximum number of 32 units in 5 categories when we operate in full screen on Google Chrome. 9+ needs the be given the ability to display many more units like that of 9 and to do this we can think of at least 2 ways that this should be able to be done quite simply. One way is to add a number of extra “Row Height” options, as found in booking chart options, such as…

  19. Group Name Change

    When a Group's name is changed it must flow through to all the siblings as well. How can RMS say that siblings could be part of different groups in the same reservation? If a sibling is added to a group, they naturally are part of that group!! If the sibling is supposed to part of a different group, surely that means a totally different group name and a different booking? I think sometimes RMS just wants to make things difficult for the users.

    Currently available in RMS 9+ is a Group Name field associated to the reservation which functions separately to the existing Group Name field on the Guest Details.

    When using the field on Reservation Details, like all other Reservation Details a prompt to update on sibling reservations will become available.

  20. Projected balance needed, when the system works off Nightly Tariff

    When the system works on nightly tariff, the nightly rates are added to the reservation each night.

    Currently there is no way to see the full amount, and what the total amount payable is when printing invoices, statements, receipts etc.

    A 'Projected Balance' is needed in these places, so if a customer pays in full on check-in, they can see the total value matches the amount they have paid.
