RMS User Suggestions enables RMS customers to add new feature suggestions they would find of benefit as well as vote on suggestions made by other customers.

All feedback is actively monitored by RMS Product Development with the highest voted suggestions reviewed for inclusion in a future development cycle.

The more votes a suggestion receives by customers the sooner it goes for consideration into a future development cycle.

  1. Service Requests ... saving as drafts?

    The opportunity to go back to the database to check on information in a service request would be a good feature.
    It's frustrating when needing to provide lots of detail to not be able to go back into the database.

    Currently available in all versions of RMS is the ability to right click a menu item, hyperlinked reservation or account number and select ‘Open in new tab’ on the browser.

    To simplify logging a service request in the scenario you have described we recommend opening the Service Request screen in a new tab to leave your main RMS window available for reference or continuation of work.

  2. I would like more standardised reporting options so that I can better understand where my business is coming from.

    You currently have standard reports that will provide performance data by company & travel agent. It would be good if there were options for this type of reporting that pull from market segments and booking source fields.

  3. I would like an indefinite time for RMS to stay open

    The 1 hour increment is still not enough for us. If we were to increase the time indefinitely then we would not have to worry about re-logging into RMS every hour.

  4. I would like to put Company name on reservation screen to be able to make out invoice to company instead of guest name only

    Currently available in all versions of RMS is the ability to include the Company, Travel Agent and/or Wholesaler field on the Reservation Screen.

    Once displayed on the Reservation Screen a Company, Travel Agent and/or Wholesaler can be selected and set as the Bill To option for the Reservation Accounts.

  5. I would like there to be able to put in a count of microwaves / roll aways that we have on site

    We need to be able to put in a count of microwaves / roll aways that we have on site and as they are booked as a requirement, it gives us an alert as to how many we have available on that particular date.

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to setup Add Ons which are a special Category type that can be used for extra items with limited inventory including Roll Aways, Car Parks, Boats, Microwaves or other limited resources to apply to a reservation.

  6. Confirmation when changing room type

    When moving rooms around on the booking grid, it would be good to be able to click an "are you sure" you want to make this change button on the booking grid if it is moving into a new "room type" or "date range". This avoids any accidental moves!

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to disable confirmation messages from displaying on the Booking Chart & Reservation Screen when changing or moving a reservation.

    If a user is not seeing these messages when performing these tasks in RMS it is likely that these confirmation messages have already been disabled.

    The below Help Centre article includes instructions to disable the messages and if you would like to re-enable them follow the steps and set ‘Allow’ to ‘Yes’ at Step 4.

  7. Ability to Group Room Types

    We have areas that are different "room types" but sold similarly and physically in the same area (cleaned together), it would be great to be able to group these by Floor, or Room type rather than printing by Site Type (as we might have (for example) a disabled room, or a twin vs king bed so requires a slightly different "type" which is then printed on a different page (Note: We do not have room numbers in order as some room numbers are repeated)) this would save paper!     Currently available in RMS is the ability to setup Groupings and apply these to Categories (Room Types) which can then be used to display by the selected Grouping on reports such as the Housekeepers Report.

  8. I would like the option to stop sell at certain at certain timeframes

    Due to COVID-19, operating business hours have decreased, therefore staff on-site is limited. The only option we've found is to stop sell manually every day to prevent bookings from coming through after staffed hours.

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to set a ‘Release Back Time’ which will close inventory for the current day once the time is reached.

    This option can be used to stop same day arrival reservations being created after the office has closed.

  9. The data window bubble on the booking chart.. It would be fantastic if it remembered user setting.

    The data window on the booking chart does show handy information, but it tends to get in the way of other, more pertinent information and tends to get 'stuck' sometimes, further hiding useful information.

    It is easy to toggle it off, but it becomes a chore having to toggle it every time we log on.

    It would be fantastic if RMS remembered user preference and kept it off until turned on again manually.

  10. Group Booking

    When we have created a large group booking and want to click on an individual booking from the home screen, for example site 9, we click on this so we can enter details or check guest in. It then clicks on the group at the top rather than the individual booking we want. This is very frustrating as we often then need to exit the booking to find what site they are on, or go through each site number down the side until we find the correct one which can be very time consuming.

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to set the default option used when opening a Group Reservation to go to the Group Master.

    When this option is selected it will always go to the Group Master on the Group Reservation even when opening an individual reservation within the group. Turning this option off will allow users to open the selected reservation without being taken to the Group Master.

    Currently available in RMS is the ability to record a guest on the Blacklist. The Blacklist is a system label that can be customised to suit the terminology of the property and be reported on.

    Blacklisted Guests show on the Guest Profile when completing a Guest Search and have a report to provide a full list of guests that have been blacklisted.

  12. I would like it if derived rates could have a Date Made validation

    Currently, if you want to have an online promo code for a sale that must be purchased between two specific dates, you must use a discount instead of a derived rate. However, a discount can't have a package attached to it so if you want to include a sundry item, like a bottle of wine, you can't use discount and must used derived rate. If derived rates had a Date Made validation it would work perfectly.

    Currently available using Derived Rates in RMS is the ability to attach a Discount and a Package. By attaching the Discount to the Derived Rate using Property Rate Rules the Discount Validation Options can be used to qualify the rate’s availability when using the Promo Code online.

    Currently available is the ability to setup Triggerd Correspondence using SMS or Form Letters.

    Triggers can be setup to send at a preset time, eg. 2 Hours Before Arrival, 1 Day Before Arrival or on Check-in and can have additional criteria to filter out unqualifying reservations. These filters can be set by Booking Source, Category, Rate Type, Company, Travel Agent or Validation Dates.

    Currently available in RMS is a Generic Financial Export that can be mapped to report Receipt Types against the specified General Ledger Account Codes.

    Alternatively Financial Interfaces to a variety of accounting systems are available within RMS that will create an export file in the format required for import into the accounting software that will also allocate the mapped General Ledger Code to each Receipt Type in RMS.

  15. Enable RMS IBE to be configured as a subdomain of our website

    Many cloud based systems can be configured as a subdomain of a website, either using mx record and or redirects.

    It would be useful if we could configure a subdomain such as book.ourdomain.com.au to redirect to the IBE for a particular property, and for the IBE to function correctly from search to booking completion.

    Subdomain Forwarding is a feature available with the property’s domain or web host and is setup outside of RMS.

    Whilst instructions to configure vary per provider and their documentation should be referred to for the specific steps you can forward a subdomain to the RMS IBE property website or tailor it to be Category specific using the RMS IBE URL Modifiers linked below.

    Currently available in RMS using the Report Writer utility is the ability to determine which fields are exported in the generated report.

    Report Writer is a two stage process with the first stage allowing users to determine fields to search and what criteria will qualify as a match. The second stage is selecting what information (which fields) should be included on the exported report.

  18. Country Order

    Common Countries (e.g. Australia, NZ, UK, USA) to remain at the 'top' of the Country drop-down box when creating a new reservation. This would avoid much time scrolling through. Alternatively, allow the function to type the letter when in the drop-down box which will then take you straight to that section.

    All drop down fields on the reservation screen in RMS have the ability to filter the displayed results based on the letters (or numbers) typed into the field before pressing ‘Enter’ on the keyboard.

    This allows users to quickly jump to the section of the list based on their partial search.

    Entering ‘Au’ and pressing ‘Enter’ on the keyboard in the country field will return all countries with an ‘au’ in the name including Australia and Austria whilst typing ‘New’ and pressing ‘Enter’ will return New Caledonia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
