RMS User Suggestion Box

RMS User Suggestions enables RMS customers to add new feature suggestions they would find of benefit as well as vote on suggestions made by other customers.

All feedback is actively monitored by RMS Product Development with the highest voted suggestions reviewed for inclusion in a future development cycle.

The more votes a suggestion receives by customers the sooner it goes for consideration into a future development cycle.

  1. When adding a company to a booking, we would like to be able to do a global search on company name rather than just the first word. Ie. When

    Allowing global search on company or travel agent. Ie. when adding a company to a booking, typing in "Tasmania" should bring up all companies with "tasmania" in their title, not just the first word. This would ensure easy identification of company & reduce profile duplication.

    Solution to Service Request: SR#2801604

    Include Package In Percentage Calculation as described in the discount setup option.

    When this option is enabled the discount calculates as Base Rate + Package – Discount.
    Include Additionals In Calculation
    When this option is enabled the discount calculates as Base Rate + Additionals– Discount.

    For me this means Base Rate 80£ + Package 20£ - Discount 100 % = new price 0£ while else would you offer the option to include Package or Additionals in the calculation. Why else would offer the option.

    Our landline number diverts perminantly to a mobile phone and it is becoming more common in motels, it would be helpful to have contacts integrated to Google Contacts, Microsoft Exchange, etc.

    I would like to see options to choose syncronisation settings such as "in-house guests only", "in-house guests + future reservations" and "all contacts".

    For checked-in in-house guests I would like to see something like "(Rm 1) <NAME>"
    For blacklisted guests I would like to see a label like "BL <NAME>"

    This will allow us to personalise the service we provide to our guests with greetings such as "Good morning…

  12. I would like to be able to charge a 1 night surcharge and keep the deposit at first night tariff without package

    We set up under package a 1 night surcharge for first night $30 and remove the surcharge on 2nd night -$30. This is how we were taught to apply a 1 night surcharge. However, this then (based on our deposit rules) charges the first night + $30 surcharge for a 5 night stay. We only want to charge first night for a booking over 1 night.

  13. New reservation guest search improvements

    We get a lot of guests with multiple profiles because when creating a new reservation the first thing we enter is the mobile number that comes up on our caller ID, if we cannot find a result we go to the surname field then the first name field but, if the phone number in the system is internationalized (i.e. +61 4XX XXX XXX) from an OTA for example, when we enter 04XX XXX XXX it won't match the records with +614XX XXX XXX.

    I would like to see the search not try to match all search fields together but instead…

  14. Put a "Yesterday" button on the booking chart

    This was previously suggested a few years ago but was rejected by RMS to the dismay of many users, so after a few years it's time to suggest it again.

    Out of all the systems I have used in the past 16-years the one feature that was the most valuable and helped with usability is the "Yesterday" button on the booking chart. It is in many other PMS systems such as Seekom for example.

    It's a tiny little details but an extremely valuable detail.
    In the morning you can see your in-out movement visually along with the status that helps…

  15. ACH reverse receipt for NSF

    We would like to see an option to reverse and ACH payment that was rejected by the bank. Reverse option is only available the day of processing but we do not get notification from the bank the same day as the processing day from the bank

  17. Have Payment Gateway Settlement report match credit card processor

    Add the ability to enter a cutoff time for batch closing so that the RMS Payment Gateway Settlement report can match the reports issued to us by our credit card processing company. Currently transactions appear on our reports from the previous day or are missing and will not appear until the following day.

  18. Verify Credit Card Payments Posted to Account is RMS

    A useful feature would be some sort of validation when credit card charges are processed. Currently we have a number of charges processed within RMS and properly processed by our merchant account (OpenEdge) but the result of the charge is not posted to the RMS account. This makes us look bad to our guests (because of double charges to their credit card), makes bank reconciliations very difficult and costs us time and money.

  19. I would like an error message to pop up when a new client contains same details as an existing client profile

    There's too many duplicated clients in RMS due to the user not selecting an existing client profile. it would be good if the system was smart enough to recognise either an email or mobile phone number as already existing. then pop up a window that says.. this client detail already exists. are you sure you want to create a new client? or revert to existing.
